The Darph’s sophomore LP builds on their first two releases taking the best parts of those albums’ sounds and evolving them into something unique but still recognizable. Voids sees The Darph using more electric guitars than ever with sounds ranging from sad, minor key alt-rock to full on drone and doom metal inspired tracks layered six feet deep in guitar overdubs. The experimental sounds that are part of the Darph DNA are still there but used in more purposeful ways with a backdrop of ambiance permeating the entire album. This LP is about escaping by means of something that itself eventually must be escaped.
